Sustainable Innovation Society

The University of Bristol's student-led sustainability think tank.

Real problems.
Real research.
Real impact.

Transport & infrastructure

Bristol–Bath metro feasibility

A feasibility study of the corridor, alongside a review of why every previous scheme failed to get built.

Corporate sustainability

B-Corp certification research

A Bristol firm assessed against the B Corp Impact Assessment, with the gaps mapped into a readiness roadmap.

Climate resilience

Herefordshire flooding

Flood risk and resilience in the county's catchments, scoped with a partner for the current batch.

What we do

Real work, not case competitions.

We take live sustainability problems, put interdisciplinary student teams — engineering, finance, policy, design, sciences — onto them with real organisations, and publish the results. One defined question, one team, one deliverable someone outside the university uses.

Projects

Every engagement, in full.

Scope, team, method and outcome for each project we run — including the briefs currently open with partners.

Our work

Research & writing.

Project reports are prepared for publication; between them, the work is written up as essays.
